Jack Kenneth (Ken) Walker

                           Ken Walker was born in Alexandria, Louisiana on November 26, 1945. He attended public schools in south Grant Parish and graduated from Dry Prong High School in 1963. While in high school he was a member of the baseball and basketball teams and a participant on the FFA debate team. Ken attended La. Tech from 63 to 67 graduating with a degree in business administration with a marketing option. He has been married to his wife Bonnie since 1966. They have three (3) grown children, all graduates of La. Tech; Jamie, a self employed forester, Jennifer, a speech therapist and Stephanie, an elementary grade school teacher. Ken and Bonnie also have five (5) granddaughters. Ken Walker is an avid outdoorsman that focuses on deer hunting and maintaining his 2 acre yard and 20 acre tree farm.  He is also in the process of establishing a salt water reef aquarium. Ken was named executive director of the law enforcement planning program in 1970, six years before the formation of Red River Delta. He spearheaded the incorporation of the organization that initially served the eight (8) parishes of Red River Delta and now the ten(10) parishes of Northwest.

 

Sybil A. Richards

Sybil was born in Winnfield, Louisiana.  She has lived in Northern Grant Parish her entire life.  She attended Georgetown High School where she graduated in 1965.  She was very active in all the school activities and participated in many clubs, sports, etc.  She was a cheerleader for the varsity basketball teams and was voted as Miss GHS her senior year by the student body.  She attended Louisiana Tech from 65 to 67 studying Business Administration.  In 1969 she married Robert Richards and has two children: Amy and Bob.  She also has four grandchildren.  She enjoys reading, working in her flower garden and on her 72 acre farm, traveling, stain glass, putting puzzles together and spending time with her grandchildren.

Sybil was employed by Kisatchie-Delta Economic Development District from 1968-1972.  In 1972 she started to work with the law enforcement program of Kisatchie Delta and in 1976 moved into the newly incorporated Red River Delta LEPC.  She has served as assistant director of the program from 1972 until present.

Jeremy P. Edwards

Jeremy was born on September 26, 1977 in Metairie, LA.  Because Jeremy’s father was employed by the U. S. Government, Jeremy’s family has lived in a variety of different places, including: Metairie, LA; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; Dumfries, VA (30 miles S of Washington D. C.); Lafayette, LA; Opelousas, LA; and Jeremy currently lives in the Alexandria, LA area with his wife, Stephanie and daughters, Madison and Mallory. Jeremy graduated high school with Humanitarian Honors from Westminster Christian Academy, Opelousas, LA before going to college at Louisiana College in Pineville, LA.  He graduated from Louisiana College with a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Criminal Justice and Sociology. After graduating from college in May of 2001, Jeremy started working for Red River Delta Law Enforcement Planning Council, Inc. in June of 2001 as the Grant Manager of the Byrne (Anti-Drug), Local Law Enforcement Block Grant (LLEBG) , and Act 562 Equipment Grant Programs. Jeremy currently manages the Byrne Justice Assistance Grant Program (JAG), Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention Program (LETPP), Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Title II and V Programs and Act 562 Equipment Grant Program.
